What and How

How much time do you spend preparing what you want to say in a presentation, before a negotiation or just a meeting. Probably very little, because you have no time. But how much time do you spent to prepare, HOW you want to place the words (that you have hardly prepared)?

If you think of the effect you create, experience shows, that HOW you say something, is decisive for more than half of your success. – You will say this was clear and common knowledge, but…

As an actor I am used to rehearse for weeks and months before we tell our story to the audience. We want to fascinate, to entertain, to convey a message. I am not saying the author was not important. But if you have a good play and a poor staging, the story will fail.

You don’t have to be a fully skilled actor in your daily business life. But why people think (without being a professional story teller), that they can tell their story without rehearsals, without the necessary skills, I don’t know.

Mind the time spent in preparing HOW you tell your story is not wasted. As stated above: It makes at least half of the success. And if you don’t know how to rehearse, ask me 😉
